Map of the day

Where: Operations → Map. Who: every role views; check-ins and releases also beach staff; bookings, moves and payments cashiers, managers and owners.

The operational map is the beach of one day, spot by spot, with the status of each. It is shared in real time between the desk, the beach and online bookings.

The bar at the top is always visible: Previous day, Next day, Today, the Date picker, the Slot (Full day, Morning, Afternoon) and, if you have more than one, the Map. The Map / List switch shows the same spots as a list by row, handy on a phone or with a screen reader.

On closure days or off season Establishment closed appears.

Every spot has a coloured ring around the drawing and, for booked statuses, a symbol in the corner: the map can be read without telling colours apart, in light and dark theme. The legend is always above the map.

Tap or use the keyboard to select a spot; drag and use the controls to zoom.

Above the map, Labels chooses what is written under each spot:

Choice What it shows
Code Only the spot code (A1, B7…)
Customer The surname of who occupies the spot; free spots keep their code
Both The code and, below it, the surname (default)

The name is the surname of the booking’s customer (the first name when there is no surname): the holder for season passes, the main customer for groups; an anonymised customer shows as Anonymous. Never email or phone. Long names are shortened with an ellipsis; the full name is in the mouse tooltip and in what the screen reader announces (“Spot B7: Booked at the desk, occupied by Rossi M.”). The choice is remembered for your user on that device.

Names appear only when they can be read without overlapping: when the map is too small (phone, tablet with the sidebar open, many spots close together) the codes stay and the hint suggests zooming in; Customer frees the room of the code. In the List the name is always next to the spot.

The Search customer, code or spot field highlights the matching spots on the map (“3 spots found”): useful when a customer at the desk only gives their surname.

Tap a spot to open its sheet: Booking or Season pass, Code, Period, Slot, Packs, Status, Total, Paid and Balance. If it is pending, it shows how long the hold lasts; if it is blocked, the reason. Actions depend on the status and your role:

Action When
Check in Today’s booking not yet checked in
New booking Free spot: opens the booking sheet already filled in
Release day Absent pass holder: the spot becomes bookable; if it is resold, the holder gets the credit set in the policy
Revoke release Cancels a release not yet resold
Move Moves the booking to another spot
Collect Records a payment on the balance
Open details Opens the full booking
  1. In the sheet press Move: the map asks for the destination spot.
  2. Tap a free spot.
  3. Read the preview: Arenile checks availability and price (The price does not change, Difference to collect, Difference to refund) and lists any conflicts day by day.
  4. Move. The move applies from the day shown for the rest of the stay.

With Select (or Shift/Ctrl-click on a free spot) you pick several spots and turn them into a group booking or block them with period, slot and reason: see Block spots and group bookings. On a wide screen the map uses the whole page width.

Beach staff can do their round with a phone: map with pinch-zoom and pan, Fit to view, spot sheet, one-tap check-in. When labels get too small, a notice suggests zooming in or switching to the list.
