Test mode

Where: Configuration → Test mode. Who: owner and manager switch it on and off; all staff see the notice while it is on.

Test mode lets you try Arenile before opening (or train the staff) without distorting the figures: every booking and payment created while it is on is a test row and stays out of reports, the “Today” indicators, corrispettivi, the Z closing and exports. At the end you delete them all with one click.

Switching it on and off

1. Turn on Test mode on. The yellow notice Test mode is on appears at the top of every panel page: whoever is working knows they are creating test data.
2. Try what you need: desk bookings, bookings from the map, cash payments, the public page from the preview link.
3. Turn the switch off before working with real customers.

The flag is written on the booking when it is created: switching test mode off does not turn test bookings into real ones, and switching it on does not touch real ones. A payment inherits the flag of its booking; an online payment taken with the Stripe test keys is a test payment in any case. Real bookings keep paying with the live keys even while test mode is on. Test bookings take spots like any other until you delete them. While test mode is on, data imports are suspended.

Public page: only from the preview link

While test mode is on the public page does not accept bookings from customers: whoever tries reads that online bookings are temporarily suspended. To try it yourself:

1. In Public page preview press Create preview link.
2. Copy the link or Open it: it is valid for 2 hours, on another device too (your phone, to walk through the customer journey).

The option Test bookings from customers too opens the page to everybody: not recommended when the page is already published, because real customers’ bookings would be test rows (excluded from the figures and deletable).

Online payments with test keys

If you saved the Stripe test configuration too in Online payments, test mode uses it automatically: no real charges, Stripe test cards. Without test keys online payments are disabled during the test (payment at the venue).

Test keys with test mode off

The Stripe test keys are only for test bookings. If Stripe stays configured in test mode when you turn test mode off, real customers cannot pay online: the public page explains it to the customer and the payment is refused, so nobody gets a confirmed booking with a test card. The panel shows the warning Online payments blocked for real customers until you switch to the live keys (or turn test mode back on).

Deleting test bookings

1. In Test bookings check the count.
2. Delete test bookings: the confirmation shows how many bookings and payments will be deleted.
3. Delete.

The deletion is final and happens in a single operation: bookings, allocations, payments, documents and related messages. Real bookings are never touched and the activity log stays. Customer credit generated by the tests is removed and the balance recomputed.

Webhooks and integrations

Events of test bookings are not sent to webhooks: connected systems do not see the tests.
