Chosen spot
The customer picks the exact spot on the map. The classic case of numbered rows.
Where: Configuration → Zones. Who: owners and managers.
A zone groups spots or equipment sold in the same way: “Front row”, “Gazebos”, “Pool”, “Free sunbeds”. For each zone you decide how it is sold, at what price (category) and how much can be sold online.
Chosen spot
The customer picks the exact spot on the map. The classic case of numbered rows.
Zone
The customer picks the zone; the spot is assigned later, by staff or automatically. Ideal for premium areas or to fill rows compactly.
Quantity
Only a number of items, without position (for example free sunbeds): availability is a counter on a pool. A quantity zone has no spots on the map.
You can combine the modes in the same establishment: the public page adapts by itself and shows the map only if at least one zone visible online is chosen-spot, zone cards for “Zone” zones and the quantity selector for quantity zones.
row1. Several zones can share a category. In the list each zone shows its mode, map, number of spots and an online sales label: All online, Online 30%, Online max 20 or Desk only.
A zone in Zone mode sells capacity: a counter equal to the number of active spots, created and kept in sync by the system. The booking line is created to assign and the spot is chosen:
The automatic algorithm sorts the lines from the longest to the shortest (the hardest to place) and for each one picks, among the spots free on all dates, the one with the best score: continuity with the same customer’s previous booking, closeness to the other lines of the same booking, customer preferences and compact filling of the rows. If no spot is free for the whole period, the line stays to assign and staff place it by hand (splitting over several spots is allowed only if the policy allows a spot change during the stay).
The quota limits how much of a zone can be sold online (and through the API), for each date and slot. The desk ignores the quota: staff can always sell anything free.
| Type | Example | Available online |
|---|---|---|
| No limit | — | everything free |
| Percentage | 30% of 40 spots | at most 12 sold online, minus those already sold online that day |
| Number | 20 | at most 20 sold online |
As a formula: available online = min(total free, quota − already sold online). When the quota is used up the
customer sees “No more online spots for these dates”, while the zone remains sellable at the desk.
Can I change a zone from “Chosen spot” to “Quantity”? A quantity zone cannot have spots on the map: first move or delete its spots.
Why can’t I delete a zone? Because it is used by price rules, promo codes, agreements, packs or policies: the error lists what to change first.
