Seasons and periods

Where: Configuration → Seasons and periods. Who: owners and managers.

• The season is the opening period of a year (for example from 1 May to 30 September).
• Rate periods split the season into price bands: low, mid, high season, peak (Ferragosto) or free codes. Price rules use them as a condition.
• Local holidays add to the Italian national holidays already included.

Creating a season

1. Press New season.
2. Enter Year, Opens on, Closes on.
3. Choose the Status: Draft (in preparation), Active (on sale) or Closed.
4. Save.

The public page limits its calendar to the active season. Off season the map of the day shows “Establishment closed”. There is one season per year.

Rate periods

Each day of the season belongs to at most one period: Arenile rejects a range that overlaps another period or that falls outside the season’s dates.

1. In the season press New period, or use the Typical periods (Low season, Mid season, High season, Peak) to start from a ready-made code.
2. Code: low, mid, high, peak or a free code (for example ferragosto).
3. Colour: the colour of the period in the timeline and in the public calendar (if you enable highlighting periods).
4. Date ranges: one or more From/To ranges (Add range). A period can have separate ranges, for example “mid” in June and in the first half of September.

The Period view switches between Timeline and Calendar. If some days of the season are not covered by any period, a notice counts them: rules tied to periods will not apply to those days.

Caution

Deleting a period means the rules that use it no longer apply on those days: check the coverage check afterwards.

Local holidays

Days treated as holidays by price rules with the “Holidays” condition, in addition to the national holidays already included in the program.

• Specific dates: one precise day (Add date), for example an event.
• Yearly holidays: MM-DD format (Add yearly holiday), for example 08-16 for the patron saint.

Copying the season to the next year

Copying the price list (periods, rules, fixed prices, policies) is done from Prices → Copy season: dates shift keeping the weekday where it makes sense and the target season is created as a draft.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have two seasons in the same year? One season per year. For a winter reopening use periods and closures.

Must Ferragosto be a period of its own? It is not required: you can make one peak period for all of August and a rule with a specific date range for 14–16 August. Choose whichever is clearest for you.
